Each trip has a currency, and expenses are stored in it. That keeps balances exact — no rounding drift from repeated conversions.
Converted display
When you settle up, you can display balances and transfers converted to another currency using up-to-date rates, so everyone sees an amount they understand.
Conversion is for display when settling; the underlying record stays in the trip's currency.
